Equine Veterinary Surgeon – Orthopaedics & Emergency Surgery (0.9 FTE, 36 hours)

As our practice continues to expand, we are looking for an Equine Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in orthopaedics and emergency surgery to join us.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine general equine practice with a strong focus on orthopaedics and sports horse medicine.

You will play an active role in the further development of our sports horse services while participating in the surgical emergency on-call rota. You will work closely alongside an experienced European Specialist in Equine Surgery (Dip. ECVS) and have the opportunity to further develop your surgical skills.

Whether you already have extensive experience in orthopaedics and surgery or are keen to develop these interests further, we offer the support and opportunities to help you grow.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Diagnosing and treating orthopaedic conditions.
- Managing sports horses, including preventative sports medicine and rehabilitation.
- Performing pre-purchase and performance examinations.
- Participating in the surgical emergency on-call rota.
- Providing general equine veterinary care, including internal medicine, reproduction, emergency medicine and the management of hospitalised patients.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of our clinical services and the practice as a whole.
