Job Description
To ensure the best possible care for dental patients, these cases will in future be combined into a separate specialist department. This department will hold the same status as all other specialist departments within the clinic. To establish and develop the dentistry service, we are seeking the
Veterinarian for Small Animal Dentistry EVDC / AVDC (m/f/d)
• As a specialist in veterinary dentistry, you will be an important member of the expert veterinary team and take responsibility for the development of the dental department.
• You will independently manage the dental consultation service and serve as the primary contact person for pet owners, colleagues, and referring veterinarians regarding all dentistry-related questions.
• In addition to treating fractures, root and enamel conditions, you will independently perform full-mouth rehabilitation procedures and offer prosthetics and dental replacement solutions. You are expected to proactively acquire any techniques not yet mastered.
• You will work particularly closely with the surgery and ENT colleagues who have previously managed these patients.
• The extensive use of internal and external diagnostics, including state-of-the-art imaging (ultrasound, X-ray, CBCT imaging, CT, MRI), enables professional diagnosis and targeted treatment.
• You will either perform surgeries independently or routinely collaborate with surgical colleagues.
• Actively maintaining relationships with referring small animal practices will be one of your key day-to-day responsibilities.
• Through the development and delivery of continuing education programs for all clinic staff, you will contribute both professionally and personally to the team environment.
• With your confident and competent manner, you will become an important representative figure for the clinic.
• You will report directly to the Clinic Director / private owner.
Requirements
• Enjoy working with colleagues and pet owners
• Degree in veterinary medicine and several years of practical clinical experience at a veterinary faculty hospital or private veterinary clinic
• Ideally, completed specialist veterinary training, a completed residency, or Diplomate status (EVDC / AVDC)
• Independent working style and sound specialist knowledge are essential
• Motivation and passion for continuously sharing and deepening your expertise while staying scientifically up to date
• Interest in a long-term position and ongoing professional development

Depending on your qualifications, you may hold the position of Senior Veterinarian (m/f/d) and become Head of Department (m/f/d). This also means that key investment decisions for the department will largely be within your responsibility. You will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to a team of generalists and specialists, continuously expand your knowledge, and pass it on to others.
The clinic is located on the outskirts of a well-known university city with excellent infrastructure for the whole family. Transport connections are ideal. Two mountain ranges popular with hikers and outdoor sports enthusiasts are right on the doorstep. France and Switzerland are only a short distance away.
